I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER (R) Written by Kevin Williamson, who penned the allusively witty, genre-bending script for Scream, this is nothing more than a slick version of the kind of gruesomely formulaic teen slasher film that Scream took off from. In a North Carolina fishing village, four high school graduates, out for a summer joyride, hit someone on the road and dump the body in the ocean, only to realize he's still alive. The following summer, they're haunted by a deranged killer. The story has more holes than the bodies do, but the shocks are efficient, and Party of Five's Jennifer Love Hewitt knows how to scream with soul. B-
