McBride and the Ride were only partly successful in lassoing a viable country-rock style on their debut, something they've rectified with their second, Sacred Ground. Unfortunately, their sound crisp but gentle rockers with stacked harmony vocals is now far stronger than their material, distinguished mainly by the title tune, a loving husband's request to his wife's boyfriend to leave his family intact.
