Music Review: 'The Firm' (1997)

EW's GRADE
B+

Details Lead Performance: Various Artists

VARIOUS ARTISTS No, it's not the John Grisham novel or the Jimmy Page post-Zep combo — it's the heaviest hip-hop supergroup ever. Senior partners include rap superstars Nas, Foxy Brown, and AZ; and G-funk magistrate Dr. Dre drops beats and rhymes on two tracks. Indeed, this is more like rap's Supreme Court, as the slamming grooves, ill rhymes, and soaring female vocals (ex-En Voguer Dawn Robinson) on tracks like ''Firm Biz'' amply demonstrate. B+
