You can practically taste why the French/Georgian import A Chef in Love got an Oscar nomination. Embracing the amour between a lusty old chef (Pierre Richard) and a proud, young Georgian princess (Nino Kirtadze), it's as romantic about food as it is about love. Unfolding in flashback interludes, this idyll dances liltingly from great meals to marathon lovemaking, but for all its sensuous pleasures, it is most affecting after the star-crossed couple is forced apart by the Russian Revolution. Only when they can no longer touch do we understand the depth of their love. A-
