There's no such sentimentality at Shoot's snooty Blush magazine. Even though Laura San Giacomo works for her dad (George Segal) on the show, their characters don't seem to care about each other. Meanwhile, David Spade's scheming secretary and Enrico Colantoni's horny photog routinely play evil pranks on Wendie Malick's aging ex-model. Shoot's talented ensemble cast should demand better than the scripts' often obvious putdowns. After all, there is a difference between being mean and being funny.
