The seminal country duo offers up a dozen traditional yule tunes on this 1962 effort, with a pair of secular holiday numbers added for this timely CD reissue. A couple of songs sport awkwardly saccharine vocal choruses, but the remainder feature gracefully spare arrangements that highlight Ira and Charlie Louvin's achingly bittersweet harmonies. Their gospel fervor on Christmas With the Louvin Brothers ought to resonate with the faithful and heathens alike. B
