Soul Train Christmas Starfest is a solid soul collection from Christmases past. Although schmaltz from Johnny Gill bogs things down — and Immature's ''Santa Claus Is Coming to Town'' is that (immature) — Az Yet, Rome, and Total Commitment make old chestnuts a real present. Plus great treats from Stevie Wonder and James Brown. B
