DEF JAM'S HOW TO BE A PLAYER

Details With: Bill Bellamy

A sugarcoated cross between MTV and soft-core porn, Def Jam's How To Be a Player, a hip-hop-stuffed twentysomething bedroom farce is tailor-made for private consumption by a very specific (adolescent male) audience. Since I'm outside the target demo of this painfully unfunny comedy, it would be churlish of me to slam it for its one-dimensional characters, far-fetched, slack plotting, and up-your-nose sexism -- but it would be honest.
