That, of course, was the triumphant conclusion that the celluloid Willy reached when he leapt over a seawall to rejoin his family. But this is real life: What if Keiko stays in Oregon, where he won't be made to perform but can be viewed by his fans? "This is a win for whales everywhere," insists Garrett. "The public isn't going to stand for whales being made into circus animals. Keiko's ushered in a new era."
