Tacking four vintage torch songs (three from Sting, one from Don Henley) on to a collection of moody jazz instrumentals and snippets of the film's dialogue, Leaving Las Vegas is the sort of filler-heavy soundtrack album heretofore presumed to be obsolete. Anyone tempted to buy this should remember that the record industry, like Las Vegas, depends on gullible souls who don't know when to keep their money in their pockets. C-
