Paradise (1996)

EW's GRADE
A-

Details Lead Performance: John Anderson; Genre: Country

Paradise is a funky blend of honky-tonk, blues, and outlaw rock finds John Anderson at the peak of his expressive form. With a barn-burner set of tunes (and guest spots by Mark Knopfler and Levon Helm), Paradise smartly veers from ''My Kind of Crazy,'' a big rhythm number with the insouciance of his classic ''Swingin','' to the jazz-blues of ''Bad Weather.'' A joy.
