A FORCE OF NATURE powers the first trailer for Warner Bros.' tornado pic Twister, due May 17. Even as it leaves audiences in the literal dark for much of its two minutes -- and keeps us in the dark as to any plot or stars (Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt have top billing) -- the ominous flashes of footage lit by lightning make it perfectly clear that Twister's gonna getcha. As a farm family dives for its storm cellar amid a thunderous din, viewers are invited to be blown away by the film's blockbuster pedigree: ''From the creators of Jurassic Park,'' we read. ''From the director of Speed.'' And then comes the farm machinery flying straight at your face.
