BEAUTIFUL GIRLS (R) An unexceptional drama about men in their late 20s who don't have a clue, and the women who graduated with them. This variation on the theme is set in a fictional industrial Massachusetts town and stars Timothy Hutton as Willie, the central commitmentphobe; Uma Thurman as a glamour-puss visiting from big-city Chicago; and Natalie Portman as an impossibly sophisticated and unpimpled 13-year-old neighbor on whom Willie develops a no-touch crush. Directed, with overfondness for the goofy ways of guys, by Ted Demme and written, with overfondness for the sound of guys pontificating about nothing, by Scott Rosenberg. C+
