''Wonderwall'' (1995)

EW's GRADE
C+

Details Lead Performance: The Mike Flowers Pops; Genre: Pop

Will the Mike FLowers Pops's lounge version of Oasis' ubiquitous pop nugget ''Wonderwall'' score as big Stateside as it already has in the U.K.? Doubtful. Credit the Pops for making their pastiche two-pronged: They goof not only on the Bros. Gallagher & Co., but also on the practice by '50s and '60s crooners like Pat Boone of covering big hits in their own toothless styles. Clever as the idea is, the joke wears thin after two listens. C+
