Details Movie Rated: PG; Genre: Action/Adventure; With: Sean Connery and Gert Frobe

The many virtues of Goldfinger: Deluxe Collector's Edition notwithstanding — the cool car, the babe in gold paint — Goldfinger represents the moment at which the James Bond series first veered toward self- parody; thus, it has much to answer for. That aside, this deluxe edition (with a sumptuous new letterboxed transfer) is noticeably easier on the eyes than six — yes, six — previous disc incarnations, and it's chockful of bonus material, including two informative making-of documentaries narrated (ironically enough) by '60s TV Bond surrogate Patrick Macnee. It is, however, a shock to learn that Gert Frobe's dialogue (even the immortal ''No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die!'') was supplied by a dubbed English actor. Some information should remain Highly Classified. A-
