Compared with the virtual flood of CD-ROMs this spring, the flow of videogames appears to have slowed to a trickle — probably because most software companies are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Nintendo's latest tsunami, NINTENDO 64. The 64-bit game system, originally called Ultra 64, was expected in fall 1995, then April '96. It's now slated for a U.S. launch in September (for less than $250, lowballing 32-bit rivals PlayStation and Saturn, which each cost $300). Ah, spring-- when a young person's fancy turns to beating his opponents senseless.
