The Lost Episodes, a trove of tidbits from Frank Zappa's vast archives, mostly from the '60s and '70s, conveys a solid portrait of the artist's range, rather than being a set of factory seconds. Captain Beefheart provides juicy, absurd cameos, especially on the dissonant, synth-laden, dream-driven ''The Grand Wazoo.'' File under Zappaphiliac docudrama. B+
