Pogue Mahone (1996)

EW's GRADE
B+

Details Lead Performance: The Pogues; Genre: Rock

Continuing to prove there's life after Shane MacGowan's departure for a solo career, the Pogues deliver a second consistently entertaining album of their Celtic-meets-punk mix, Pogue Mahone. That's not to say MacGowan's not missed — the songs sometimes sound formulaic — but you can forgive almost anything when the results are as aggreably raucous as Pogue Mahone. B+
