As frontman for American Music Club, Mark itzel crafted confessional songs about being romantic in an unfeeling world. Now solo, he specializes in mellow jazz instead of folk rock, but he still aches with teary emotion: ''Everything's beautiful except for you and me,'' he croons in ''Cleopatra Jones.'' On 60 Watt Silver Lining, Eitzel continues to prove grace can exist in even the deepest misery. B+
