Prodigiously gifted pop chameleon Maria McKee ventures still further astray from her erstwhile roots rock on Life Is Sweet, borrowing some surprising stylistic cues from no less a lizard than David Bowie. Add vintage Mick Ronson-style guitar to McKee's lovely, deeply twisted diva confessionals, and you have a rich exercise in romantically obsessive glam rock that, at its considerable best, suggests a Polly Jean Stardust.
