Details Lead Performance: Richard Davies; Genre: Folk

Stripping down from the lush orchestration of his work with Cardinal, Aussie Richard Davies delivers a cracked brand of '60s-style folk-pop that sounds like a long-lost collaboration between Nick Drake and Syd Barrett. On There's Never Been a Crowd Like This, what Davies lacks in musicianly polish, he more than makes up for in melodic sense and sheer joie de rock.
