HEADS UP, Imelda. Some items out of the shoe box:

All roads lead back to Seinfeld and Elaine's coveted Botticellis. Ever since her two-tone oxfords were the subject of a 1993 episode, bicolored loafers, spectator pumps, and other shoes of two hues have been gaining a foothold. Kenneth Cole, who offers six variations for men and women, credits a return to traditional looks. ''This isn't a shoe that goes out of style come Labor Day,'' says Cole. Now, that's an arch trend.

Hush Puppies, in the midst of a colorful comeback, is putting its best footwear forward at the Oscars. Going right to the sole of the matter, the company designed a special Academy Award shoe (below) and sent complimentary pairs to the Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor nominees. Tom Hanks also received a pair (size 9 1/2). ''He may have been snubbed by the Academy, but [because of Forrest Gump] he's partly responsible for the craze,'' says Hush Puppies marketing director Jeff Lewis. As for the distaff nominees, there were no Puppies for their pedicured dogs. ''Maybe we'll do a women's line next year,'' Lewis says. ''But they're a stretch for those Versace gowns.''
