Recorded after Chilton's teen-idol days with the Box Tops, but before his stint with seminal power-poppers Big Star, this long-lost solo album is a minor disappointment, offering only hints of the latter band's vaunted magic. Still, Chiltonologists will have to own this, if only for the medley of the Archies' ''Sugar, Sugar'' and James Brown's ''There Was a Time,'' which presages the schizoid nature of Chilton's post-Big Star career.
