Alec Baldwin 1, paparazzi 0. On March 22, a Van Nuys, Calif., jury acquitted the actor of assault in an Oct. 26 incident in which Baldwin, 38, prevented photographer Alan Zanger from videotaping wife Kim Basinger returning from the hospital with their newborn daughter, Ireland.

ARRESTED
Extra-large-size rapper Notorious B.I.G., 23, was arrested in New York City March 23 and charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal mischief. According to police, B.I.G. and friends drove away from a club to chase two unidentified men who had fled in a taxi after arguing with the rapper. Catching up with the cab, ''the suspects exited their vehicle and began damaging the cab by smashing its windows with a baseball bat,'' say police.... Allegedly exhaling above the legal limit, actor-director Forest Whitaker (The Crying Game, Waiting to Exhale), 34, was charged with one count of driving under the influence March 20 in L.A. Whitaker, who failed a sobriety test after police stopped him near Sunset Boulevard, was released on his own recognizance.

LAWSUITS
So what if his life reads like the ultimate tabloid story? Kato Kaelin is suing the Globe for libel. The former houseboy to the stars charges that editors showed ''reckless disregard'' in printing a story accusing him of hiding evidence for O.J. Simpson when they knew the story was false.... Sylvester Stallone's rocky relationship with his ex-stepfather, Anthony Filiti, is a matter for the L.A. courts. On March 21, Filiti slapped Stallone, 49, with a suit charging defamation. Filiti maintains that he successfully managed the actor's finances from 1991 until 1995 but that he was fired after a disagreement about Stallone's Planet Hollywood investment. In seeking $50 million in damages, Filiti charges that Stallone has since ''set out to destroy the reputation of his stepfather.'' Stallone characterizes the suit as ''personal and frivolous.''

EXPECTING/ADOPTING
Wynonna Judd, 31, has more than a new album, Revelations, to brag about on tour this spring. Judd and her husband, businessman Arch Kelley III, 43, expect their second child this summer. Their son, Elijah, is a year old.... Jamie Lee Curtis, 37, and husband Christopher Guest, 48, adopted their second child, Thomas Haden, born on March 13. Thomas' sister, Annie, is 9.
