GIRL 6 (R) In Spike Lee's comedy, we never quite understand why the heroine, an aspiring actress (Theresa Randle), becomes a phone-sex operator. Still, Randle, with her rich, honeyed voice, makes an authentic fiber-optic star; she drapes that voice around her callers like a bearskin rug. The movie has fun envisioning phone sex as a ribald comedy of corporate deception. But Lee's vision turns out to be cautionary in a drably conventional way. B-
