The occasional howler (such as the implication that the subways are kept safe morning, noon, and night by the Guardian Angels, a moribund citizens' patrol group) or terrible pun (''Death and taxis are the only inevitables in Manhattan'') aside, the Frommer's Interactive Guide: New York City '96 disc does an adequate job of covering the myriad dining, entertainment, and shopping choices in the Big Apple. But until New York hotels offer multimedia computers as part of their standard accommodations, I can't imagine anyone favoring this disc over the handy (and more navigable) Frommer's print guide, which, fortunately, is included in the package.
