Details Lead Performance: Pierre Dorge & New Jungle Orchestra; Genre: Jazz

With Pierre Dorge's ''Fullmoon for a Rhino,'' a sensuous composition he loosely fashions after Duke Ellington's ''The Mooge,'' the top Danish ensemble New Jungle Orchestra comes closer to evoking the magic of Ellington than most bands that re-create his music verbatim. While their emotional range on Music From the Danish Jungle is not as broad as the Ellington band's, but it can be quite moving, as on a hymn by the masterly Danish composer Carl Nielsen. B+
