Details Lead Performance: Fuzzy

Give Fuzzy credit for covering this obscure Beach Boys song, but their stiff treatment nearly strips ''Girl Don't Tell Me'' of its charm. When Bryan Ferry cried for Johnny in his '73 cover of ''It's My Party,'' it was genuinely startling. Today, having a woman sing ''I'm the guy who left you'' is at best jarring, at worst dull. Only a re-creation of the original's Beatlesque guitar line saves this from failure. C-
