This isn't a bad Mother's Day gift for the woman who has everything, including a slightly skewed sense of humor. Taking a cue, it seems, from William Wegman and his dogs, Judy Olausen has photographed her own mother in various '50s-style outfits and bizarre situations (many of them spoofing the traditional housewife's plight). The cover shot of Motherfinds her as a human coffee table. In ''Mommy Deer,'' she's antlered, wearing a fur coat and tied to a car roof. In another image she's doing the laundry as Quasimodo. The collection can be repetitive and some of the images are less imaginative than others, such as the shot in which Olausen chains her mother/model to an ironing board. Still, if not deeply subversive, most of the photos — for example, ''Mother as Roadkill'' — are wickedly witty enough. B+
