With his coarse, marble-mouthed style, this former member of Leaders of the New School has a voice that hits you like a karate kick as do the beefy, staccato (and occasionally cluttered) tracks that accompany him in The Coming. But what distinguishes Busta Rhymes is his sense of humor. He can't resist mocking his fellow East Coast rappers with old-school disses like ''Top gun, shut down your firm like Tom Cruise!'' Even in rap, sonic assaults rarely sound this playful or lovable. B+
