Details Lead Performance: The Neville Brothers

This disc and its '92 predecessor, Family Groove, may better represent the Nevilles' sound than the heavily produced Yellow Moon ('89) and Brother's Keeper ('90), but the earlier albums were superior; one misses their atmospheric romanticism. When the Neville Brothers ignore their pair of aces — Mardi Gras music and Aaron's ethereal warble — they come perilously close to generic funk. B
