Get a Life: Vol. 1

Details With: Chris Elliott

Ahead of its time, an acquired taste, or just plain bad? That this short-lived Chris Elliott sitcom has raised its absurdist head on DVD is, if nothing else, a testament to the power of the cult audience. If you were one of the few to catch this show when it first aired on Fox, then you'll love the fact that you get four episodes (''The Prettiest Week of My Life,'' ''Spewey & Me,'' ''Bored Straight,'' and ''Girlfriend 2000'') — including the option to listen to three without the obtrusive laugh track — and never-before-seen deleted scenes from ''Girlfriend 2000.'' If you've never heard of Get a Life before, it's worth checking out, if for no other reason than to see just how funny intentionally unfunny can be. B+
