Two years of studio work should have produced a well-honed sophomore disc from ex-Jane's Addiction frontman Perry Farrell and his revolving crew of band mates (including bassists extraordinaire Mike Watt and Flea). But Good God's Urge seems to owe more to the group's frequent surfing vacations: The dissonant soundscapes create annoyingly inert ambient music that never congeals into the Art to which they apparently aspire.
