The uninspired gameplay that made Clockwork Knight one of the few forgettable debut titles for Sega's cutting-edge Saturn returns to haunt this sequel, Clockwork Knight 2. Its hero a windup toy with a creepy mustache is completely charmless, making it hard to care about his mission to save Princess Chelsea. Ironically, while the six self-contained jumping-and-shooting mini-games, meant as diversions, aren't as graphically intriguing as the primary adventure's wonderland, their elegant simplicity ends up stealing the show.
