Details Lead Performance: The Tragically Hip

The Tragically Hip, the Canadian quintet, is neither tragic nor hip. Trouble at the Henhouse, their fifth full-length album, blends polished, bar-band guitar rock with a mild improvisatory strain gleaned from extensive touring, without ever approaching high drama or true grooviness. Not the most interesting shtick, but not the most annoying either. B-
