An undertaking as absurd as the Biosphere II project (pseudoscience as tourist trap) invites ridicule, and since Woody Allen's Sleeper days are behind him, the job's left to less subtle talents. Bio-Dome, mercifully, has little plot: Cretinous college kids (Pauly Shore and Stephen Baldwin) mistake an ecology experiment-cum-alternative community for a mall, sneak in to pee, and get stuck inside with five scientists who can't let the duo leave without compromising their data. The rest is pure Shore moronathon as our heroes systematically destroy, then rebuild, the Bio-Dome's ecosystem. Even with the low expectations any reasonable viewer brings to a Shore flick, this rates only stupid-plus. The bongs-and-pajamas set, though, should be riveted. C-
