When the Fab Four gave Pete Best the sack, he became Rock's Unluckiest Man. And these 28 tracks of painful, adenoidal garage pop cut with his subsequent group indicate that things only got worse. The Best Combo had as their only attraction the resume of their drummer (who left the singing and writing to others), making Beyond the Beatles 1964-66 nothing more than a morbid curiosity. F
