Home video is hardly the ideal medium for this outsize John Woo-directed thriller. But even on the small screen Broken Arrow's audacious action scenes are right in your face. Almost as amusing is John Travolta's near-camp performance as a renegade bomber pilot who hijacks a nuclear payload after ejecting his copilot (Christian Slater). Their strapped-in-the-cockpit fistfight must be a genre first, but the best bit is the crashing helicopter that nearly slices the feisty park ranger (Samantha Mathis). Or is it the fiery train wreck? Caution: Rewinding to savor the stunt work will add a good half hour to your viewing time. B+
