Singer Gwen Stephani and her Orange County, Calif., pop-ska group No Doubt have pretty well dispelled the young-women-are-held-down hypothesis of their own breakthrough hit with the unexpected success of Tragic Kingdom, a sleeper of an album that finally moves into the top 10 exactly six months after its first chart appearance. Higher up, there's no doubt -- or very little, anyway -- that the triumvirate of Metallica, Morissette, and the Fugees will keep a hold on the top three spots through most of the summer, though Toni Braxton's hot-selling sophomore sizzler briefly infiltrated their midst and may again.
