Weddings Once more to the altar. Kiefer Sutherland, 29, who was stood up by Julia Roberts in 1991 three days before they were to wed, and who was divorced from his first wife, actress Camelia Kath, in 1990, married his girlfriend of two years, Kelly Winn, 32, in a small ceremony June 29 on the campus of St. Andrew's College, outside Toronto. This is Winn's first marriage.

Splits Right now...it's time to break up? In a brief June 27 statement, Van Halen announced they had parted ways with lead singer Sammy Hagar and were currently in the studio recording with original frontman David Lee Roth. Hagar reportedly was incensed when he discovered that the band had, without his knowledge, asked Roth to record one or two songs with the group to be included in a greatest-hits album due out in the fall. According to a spokeswoman for the group, Roth is back only temporarily. ''They're currently looking for a new lead singer,'' she says.

Shame Thrill seekers on Universal Studios Hollywood's Jurassic Park ride probably wished they had just rented the video. On June 29, only one week after the $110 million theme ride's gala opening, a mechanical lift stationed near the attraction accidentally sprayed more than 100 passengers with hydraulic fluid. Three riders were hospitalized and treated for skin irritation; they were released later that day. The ride was up and running again 90 minutes after the mishap.

Ailing The kids are alright, but the adults could use some dexterity. The Who's lead singer, Roger Daltrey, 51, underwent a precautionary brain scan after singer Gary Glitter accidentally swung a microphone stand into Daltrey's eye during a rehearsal on a London stage for a Quadrophenia revival show. Daltrey underwent tests but shortly afterward performed at a June 29 Hyde Park concert, wearing an eye patch. According to his spokesman, Daltrey is ''evidently fine. He just got a mean shiner out of it.''

Deaths Actress-model Margaux Hemingway, 41, was found dead July 1 in her Santa Monica, Calif., studio apartment, the day before the 35th anniversary of the death of her grandfather, author Ernest Hemingway. Police had to break in to Margaux's home after friends reported that she had been missing for several days. Hemingway's badly decomposed body was not identifiable except by dental records, and initial reports suggested that her death was likely related to her history of epilepsy. ''There were no signs of forced entry, foul play, or any obvious indication of suicide,'' says Santa Monica Police Sgt. Gary Gallinot. ''But until the final [coroner's] report comes out [in mid-July], we are considering it a crime scene.'' Hemingway, who had been one of the nation's top models, made a celebrated film debut — with younger sister Mariel — in Lipstick (1976). But her acting career never took off, and in recent years she appeared in a string of obscure films and even more recently had started a psychic hotline. At press time, there was no comment from any member of the Hemingway family....

Academy Award-winning screenwriter Steve Tesich, 53, of a heart attack, July 1, while vacationing in Nova Scotia with his family. Among the films the Yugoslavian-born Tesich wrote were 1979's Breaking Away, for which he won an Oscar, and 1982's The World According to Garp. Tesich's last work was the Off Broadway play Arts and Leisure, which completed its six-week-long run last month....

Actress and author Pamela Mason, 80, of heart failure, June 29, at her home in Beverly Hills. Divorced from actor James Mason in 1964, she became a popular television talk-show host and authored advice books for women, including The Female Pleasure Hunt and Marriage Is the First Step Toward Divorce....

Movie producer Albert ''Cubby'' Broccoli, 87, of natural causes after years of heart problems, June 29, at his Beverly Hills home. Broccoli, who once said that one of his uncles was the first to bring the seeds for his namesake vegetable to America from Italy, produced or presented 17 James Bond movies, beginning with 1962's Dr. No starring Sean Connery. Says Pierce Brosnan, who starred as Bond No. 5 in last year's Goldeneye, Broccoli's final film: ''He was a very important and encouraging figure in my life.''...
Singer Jim Ellison, 31, of carbon monoxide poisoning, discovered June 20 in the garage of his Chicago home. Ellison was the frontman for the Chicago-based power-pop band Material Issue, a group often cited as the prime example of the burgeoning Chicago music scene. Says his former manager Jeff Kwatinetz: ''Because of his strong character and self-confidence, his apparent suicide came as a shock to all of us who considered him a very close friend.''
