dan loves patti (1996)

EW's GRADE
B

Details Lead Performance: Yum-Yum; Genre: Rock

Jumping on the orchestrated-pop-as-alternative-music bandwagon, the Chicago outfit Yum-Yum puts a mild twist on the genre: The pop in dan loves patti is set to old-fashioned, lush arrangements (strings, woodwinds, the whole nine) is the kind of dreamy OMD-style stuff that had its heyday in the John Hughes era. A worthwhile — if often precious — experiment. B
