Making quantum physics romantic is no breeze, but writer-director Benjamin Fry pulls it off in this clever script, in which a young American professor at Oxford (Jeremy Piven) frantically attempts to solve the paradox of wave-particle theory. But Wavelength's mix of domestic drama and laboratory daydreaming could have used a more charismatic cast and a more inspired director; the result is studied rather than spontaneous. Still, if you're seeking a movie with a highly unusual subject, this direct-to-video oddity fits the bill. C+
