McCarthy-ites rejoiced last week at the double-barreled news: First came the announcement that pop-culture fixture Jenny McCarthy would host a variety show on MTV beginning late this year. Appearing at a press conference with NBA bad boy Dennis Rodman (who announced his own series), the babe-as-she-wants-to-be McCarthy promised that on her new program she'd continue ''being the crazy Jenny herself.'' Then came word that the Wacky One would embark on a national tour to promote her new CD, Jenny McCarthy's Surfin' Safari, a compilation of beach tunes. Talk about good vibrations.
