Frank Tashlin's bright, spanking satire of TV, Madison Avenue, and Hollywood publicity is as sweet today as it was sophisticated in the Eisenhower years. Tony Randall is a harried adman who essentially stalks the ''oh so kissable'' movie queen Jayne Mansfield (in a deliciously self-parodying performance) to hold on to his company's account for Stay-Put Lipstick. Sadly, Tashlin's bouncy, cartoon style is severely compromised by Fox's decision not to show Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter? in its original format (Fox will, however, release a wide-screen laserdisc version next month).
