Uh-Huh (1996)

EW's GRADE
B

Details Lead Performance: Tod Vullo; Genre: Jazz

This impressive debut by Houston guitarist Tod Vullo (who managed that city's defunct Blue Moon Jazz Club) reminds us there's a lot happening beyond New York. The prime cuts on Uh-Huh are Vullo's duets with legendary guitar vet (and fellow Texan) Herb Ellis. Vullo's playful blues-shuffle title track and tender, economical ''Girl Talk'' should also get airplay aplenty. B
