Expecting to Fly

EW's GRADE
B+

Details Lead Performance: The Bluetones

The debut from these London-based pretty boys arrives with all of Britpop's requisite emphasis on song craft — then goes it one better. Conjuring a hybrid of once-influential forebears — the textured thoughtfulness of Aztec Camera with the hip-swaying buoyancy of the Stone Roses — accusation and introspection entwine in The Bluetones' sprightly, energized Expecting to Fly. B+
