Despite her smooth, distinctive voice and songwriting talent, Gabrielle takes a step backward with this languid follow-up to Find Your Way. The new CD boasts only one hummable tune, ''Forget About the World,'' and even it won't approach the popularity of her 1993 hit ''Dreams.'' The other dozen songs sound too much alike — gently soulful but unrelievedly dull. If you need a soothing bedtime album, Gabriellewill do the trick. C+
