Just to ensure that renters know what they're getting, the box for Missing Pieces, an unreleased five-year-old comedy, written and directed by TV producer Leonard Stern (Get Smart), touts it as a ''hilarious comedy about two cookies in search of a fortune'' no less than three times. ''Occasionally whimsical'' is more like it, but Robert Wuhl (of TV's Arliss) and Eric Idle do convincingly play klutzomaniacs who happen upon a potential inheritance cloaked by a riddle. What this movie ultimately resembles — despite sporadically clever dialogue and a solid supporting cast led by Lauren Hutton — is a made-for-TV Dumb and Dumber with an early-'90s feel. B-
