Big Deal

''The Runaway Jury'' is bought by Warner Bros. for over $8 million

Warner Bros. has purchased rights to John Grisham's latest novel, The Runaway Jury, for more than $8 million. ''It's the most money paid for feature film rights for a novel,'' says Grisham's agent, David Gernert. At press time, Joel Schumacher was involved in negotiations to direct Jury. Since he was successfully entrusted with the movie versions of The Client and A Time to Kill, he's what you might call a Schu-in.
