Details Lead Performance: BR5-49; Genre: Country

A nice little revivalist honky-tonk/ rockabilly band. It remains to be seen whether these guys can merge tradition and innovation into something really special, a la Yoakam or Earle — one suspects they're lightweights. But for now, BR5-49 a breath of fresh air in Music City's stultifying major-label atmosphere, a portent of possible change to come. B+
